Huge response to Stirling libraries survey as deadline looms
Almost 1,700 people have participated in a survey regarding the future of Stirling Council’s libraries. The survey, part of a consultation process, aims to gather feedback from residents, including non-library users. With two weeks left before the survey closes on Friday, November 1, the council encourages people to share their views either online or through paper copies available in libraries.
The input received will shape a new vision and strategy for the libraries over the next five years (2025-2030). This strategy is critical for ensuring that libraries can evolve and meet the changing needs of communities amidst technological advancements and financial constraints on local authorities. Additionally, a separate survey for children under 12 has been launched to gather their perspectives on libraries.
Councillor Gerry McGarvey, responsible for community wellbeing and housing, highlighted the essential role libraries play as spaces for learning and community engagement.
