Police investigate ‘unexplained’ death of four-month-old baby in Welsh village

Police in Wales are currently investigating the unexplained death of a four-month-old baby in the village of Clynderwen. The tragic incident unfolded when officers responded to a call from the Wales Ambulance Service Trust regarding the baby’s welfare in Pembrokeshire at approximately 1.45 pm on Friday, as reported by Dyfed-Powys Police.

Tragically, the baby passed away at the scene in Clynderwen. Following the distressing event, a 19-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of child neglect, according to statements released by the police on Saturday. Subsequently, both individuals have been released on bail while investigators work diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.

A police spokesperson stated, “We continue to investigate the circumstances around the death of a four-month-old baby in Clynderwen, Pembrokeshire. Two people – a woman aged 19 and a man aged 23 – were arrested on suspicion of child neglect and have now been released on bail pending further enquiries.”

Residents of the close-knit village of Clynderwen have been deeply saddened by the loss of the infant, as evidenced by the heartfelt tributes of flowers and soft toys left near the scene, as reported by the Pembrokeshire Herald. Detectives are earnestly working to provide support and answers to those affected by this tragic event.
