Members of the SWI in Carsphairn had a delightful and crafty time during their October meeting. The meeting was led by Merle Kerkhof, who orchestrated various craft activities creating a lovely, calm, and purposeful atmosphere in the hall.
The gathering began with Melissa Ade, the vice president of Carsphairn SWI, welcoming everyone to the meeting. The agenda included discussions on past events such as the bucket drumming event at Springholm and the Rural Ramble at Haugh of Urr. There were also reports on the Stewartry Federation meeting in September, setting team arrangements for upcoming events, and distributing recipe booklets.
As the meeting progressed, plans were refined for the November AGM and arrangements were finalized for the Christmas celebration. Melissa then invited Merle Kerkhof to lead the craft activities, providing members with materials to create various crafts. There was a focus on weaving, creating brooches, and other items with buttons, fabrics, and beads. The members immersed themselves in the activities with concentration and quiet discussions, supported by Merle and Heather Fairgreaves.
Refreshments were provided by Heather and Susie Seed, adding to the pleasant atmosphere of the evening. Sheila Little expressed gratitude towards the leaders and organizers. Competitions were judged, results announced, and the meeting concluded with thanks from Melissa for everyone’s participation.
