Stirling auctioneer’s annual charity golf day raises almost £12,000

Ally Logan, a well-known local auctioneer in Stirling, has recently held his annual Charity Golf Day, raising almost £12,000 for charity. Over the past 25 years, Ally Logan’s Golf Days have amassed an impressive total of over £190,000 for various local and national charities. This year, fifty teams from across central Scotland participated in a Texas scramble at Stirling Golf Club, providing 200 golfers with a fantastic day out on the picturesque course.

During the event, Ally Logan presented a cheque for £10,000 to Marion Blaney and Mel Duffy, members of the fundraising team for Strathcarron Hospice. Additionally, a donation of £1,700 was given to the Williams Foundation. The main sponsors for the event were Ground Developments and DS McG Ltd, with NFU Mutual Stirling sponsoring the Hole in One prizes and many other sponsors contributing. The winning team, with a score of 57-2.3 h/c 54.7, consisted of Grant Carnegie, Euan Douglas, Charlie Linton, and Chris Doucharty.

Acknowledging the success of the Charity Golf Day, Ally Logan expressed his gratitude to everyone who participated in the competition, generously donated prizes for the raffle and auction, and supported the event. Awards were also given out during the day, including Kerr Fletcher for Longest Drive at the 11th hole, Euan McNair for Nearest the Pin on the 10th hole, and Jim Anderson for Nearest the Pin on the 14th hole.
