Big Bang Theory Star Teases Possible Reboot
Fans of The Big Bang Theory may have reason to rejoice as one of the show’s main stars hinted at a possible reboot. Kaley Cuoco, who portrayed Penny in the beloved sitcom that ran for 12 seasons from 2007 to 2020, recently shared her enthusiasm for reprising her role if given the opportunity.
In a candid interview, Cuoco expressed her gratitude towards the show that catapulted her career, stating, “I spent 12 years playing that role, and it really set off my career. I owe a lot to that character, to that show, to [creator] Chuck Lorre.” She added, “I would absolutely reprise that role. One hundred per cent. I love that character, and I always will.”
The original series was a massive success for CBS, making lead stars like Cuoco, Jim Parsons, and Johnny Galecki some of the highest-paid actors on TV. While there has been no official confirmation of a reboot, the Big Bang Theory universe continues to expand following the conclusion of the prequel, Young Sheldon.
Reports suggest that a new project focusing on three supporting characters from the original series – comic book owner Stuart Bloom, Denise, and Bert Kibbler – is in the works. However, not all fans are on board with the idea of another spin-off, with some voicing preference for new, original content instead.
Since her time on The Big Bang Theory, Cuoco has ventured into other projects, including The Flight Attendant and Based On a True Story, with the latter set to return for a second season. The actor also recently announced her engagement to Tom Pelphrey earlier this year, adding another chapter to her personal life alongside her successful career.
As discussions about a potential reboot continue, viewers will eagerly anticipate any updates on whether The Big Bang Theory will once again grace their screens in the future.
