Princess Diana biographer issues withering Meghan Markle verdict: ‘She’s flawless about getting it all wrong’

A royal biographer has delivered a scathing critique of Meghan Markle, accusing her of consistently making misguided decisions. Tina Brown, the former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair, who led the magazine for eight years until 1992, has shown no hesitation in criticising the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Brown has previously labelled the couple as “addicted to drama” and described their departure from the royal family as a “disaster.”

In a recent appearance on The Ankler podcast, Brown did not shy away from expressing her disapproval of Meghan’s actions. She remarked, “The trouble with Meghan is that she has the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world. She’s flawless about getting it all wrong.” According to Brown, all of Meghan’s ideas are deemed as “total crap.”

Furthermore, Brown portrayed Prince Harry as being misled by Meghan, likening him to “the lamb to the slaughter in this situation,” and highlighting that he followed her lead unquestioningly. The journalist, renowned for her royal publications, including “The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor, the Truth and the Turmoil,” cautioned about Harry being perceived as “fragile” and “combustible.”

Having achieved bestseller status with her Princess Diana biography, “The Diana Chronicles,” Brown expressed regret over Harry’s and Meghan’s contentious exit from the royal family. She suggested that the couple’s departure could have been less tumultuous had they been less impulsive.

Brown’s critical analysis of Meghan comes amidst the Duchess’s recent engagement with teenagers on the subject of online bullying. During a visit to Girls Inc. in Greater Santa Barbara on October 2, Meghan opened up about her own encounters with bullying. Larissa May, co-founder of #HalfTheStory, shared that Meghan described herself as “one of the most bullied people in the world.” The Duchess engaged in activities with the girls aimed at exploring the emotional impact of various scenarios.

As Brown prepares to launch a Substack to share her opinions and insights, her remarks on Meghan’s decision-making and Harry’s assertiveness continue to spark debate. While Meghan addresses issues like online bullying, the scrutiny of their actions remains under the spotlight, with differing perspectives on their choices and behaviours.
