East Kilbride MSP to Host Energy Savings Advice Surgery
East Kilbride MSP, Collette Stevenson, is set to host an energy-saving advice surgery in the town centre. The surgery will take place at Healthy & Active East Kilbride in Olympia Court, next to the Odeon LUXE cinema, on Friday, November 8, at 10 am. During this event, Home Energy Scotland & Citizens Advice Bureau East Kilbride will offer insights on how to effectively reduce energy costs and provide information on available assistance for individuals struggling to pay their bills.
With the recent increase in the energy price cap affecting many households, especially as colder weather prompts increased heating usage, Stevenson emphasised the importance of utilising support available to those facing financial challenges. There are limited spaces available for up to 20 people at the surgery. Interested attendees are encouraged to secure a slot by emailing the MSP at collette.stevenson.msp@parliament.scot. Additionally, information packs will be compiled post-event for those unable to attend in person.
Stevenson highlighted the significance of seeking help and utilizing resources in times of need, as energy costs continue to rise. The event aims to equip residents with valuable knowledge to manage their energy expenses effectively.
