Over £100,000 worth of drugs have been recovered in North Lanarkshire. The recovery operation took place on Friday, October 25, starting at around 9am when officers searched a premises under warrant at Kilbowie Road in Cumbernauld. Cocaine valued at approximately £90,000 was seized during the operation. Subsequently, a 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the recovery and is set to appear in court at a later date.
In a follow-up operation later that day, officers conducted searches at two additional addresses on Biggar Road and Carlisle Road in Cleland. During these searches, cannabis with an estimated worth of around £25,000 was recovered, along with various other drug-related items. A 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection with this recovery and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date. Another man, aged 46, and woman, aged 47, were also arrested in relation to the incident but have been released pending further investigations.
Sergeant John Logan of the Proactive Crime Team at Airdrie Police Office emphasised the importance of these recoveries in combating harmful criminal activities.
