Hamilton Park Staff Complete 24-Hour Charity Cycle Challenge for Lanarkshire Charities
Staff members at Hamilton Park Racecourse recently showcased their dedication by undertaking a 24-hour charity cycling challenge to support two Lanarkshire charities. The cycling challenge saw participants cover a total of 323 miles, symbolically equivalent to traveling from Hamilton Park to various Scottish racecourses such as Ayr, Perth, Musselburgh, and Kelso before returning back to Hamilton Park. Despite the long distance, all cycling took place on-site using exercise bikes.
The team at Hamilton Park shared their achievement on social media, expressing gratitude for the support received and encouraging further donations. The charity cycle raised around £4400, with the proceeds to be split between the Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation and Maggie’s. The DreamMaker Foundation fulfills wishes of ill children and their siblings, bringing joy through memorable experiences, while Maggie’s offers expert cancer care and support to those affected by cancer.
Angela Cook from the DreamMaker Foundation commended the Hamilton Park team for their efforts, highlighting the positive impact the funds will have on their upcoming trip to Disneyland Paris for DreamMakers and their families.
