A planning application submitted to South Ayrshire Council has been approved, allowing Trump Turnberry to establish a new outdoor pursuits rest area at their luxury hotel and golf resort. The proposal involved a change of use for an agricultural building, a former coach house, located on Drumond Court at Little Turnberry Farm.
McGinlay Associates, based in Kilmarnock, were the agents behind the proposal. They outlined that the building, previously a stable block Coach House linked to Little Turnberry Farm, had been unused for some time. Trump International Resorts acquired Turnberry Hotel in 2014 and conducted extensive renovations. The Coach House at Drumond Court, being surplus to requirements, is now set to be transformed into an Outdoor Pursuits Rest Facility to enhance guest experiences.
The restoration plans aim to preserve the building, address its past deterioration, and provide additional facilities for guests. The proposed development includes repairing the existing structure, installing period-style windows and doors, adding an external steel stair, and creating an outdoor seating area to boost the outdoor activity centre.
The outdoor pursuits available at Trump Turnberry include clay shooting, archery, horse riding, off-road driving, and exclusive hunting and shooting packages. The improvements are expected to enhance the hotel estate facilities and contribute positively to the local economy, as noted in council papers approving the plans.

Previous projects included the remodelling of golf course features and enhancements to luxury lodges.
