A new initiative called Warmer Homes for Winter has been launched by D&G HandyVan in Lockerbie, offering free kindling, kiln dried logs, coal, briquettes, and peat to those in need across the region. The service is available to individuals receiving Pension Credit who apply to D&G HandyVan between November 1 and November 22. Rachel Reekie, the manager, expressed her delight in providing this much-needed service, which is funded by Dumfries and Galloway Council. Applicants must meet certain criteria, with the primary requirement being proof of receiving Pension Credit.
