Obsessive teen stalker, Logan MacPhail, has been sentenced to 17 years in prison after brutally stabbing his ex-girlfriend, 15-year-old Holly Newton, 36 times in a dark alleyway. The tragic incident took place in Hexham, Northumberland, where MacPhail had followed Holly after she left school, travelling from Gateshead, 25 miles away. Holly had made plans to speak to the police about her stalker ex-boyfriend, but postponed the meeting to spend time with her friends.
CCTV footage captured MacPhail boarding a bus with a knife hidden in his backpack, before confronting Holly at a bus stop in Hexham. He then lured her into a nearby alleyway, where he viciously attacked her, inflicting fatal wounds. Despite Holly’s screams for help, passersby were unable to prevent the tragic outcome. MacPhail also injured a 16-year-old boy who tried to intervene, narrowly avoiding a major artery in his neck.
