The tragic incident occurred on a Saturday night when Hutton, allegedly driving an orange Mitsubishi L200 pick-up, was involved in the accident near his home on Farmeloan Road. Cairns was rushed to the hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries four days later.

The police have continued their investigations and are appealing for witnesses who can provide information on the circumstances of the crash. Sergeant Andrew Coutts expressed condolences to the family and friends of the victim and urged anyone with relevant details or dash-cam footage to come forward. Hutton, who currently plays for Pollok, had been expected to appear in court but was later liberated from custody. The case against him remains under consideration by the authorities.

Hutton, a former Rangers player, was once considered a promising talent in Scottish football. He made his debut for Rangers in 2010 and had a successful career before moving on to other clubs. The footballer was also involved in a kidnapping incident in 2010 along with a teammate.

In light of this recent tragedy, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation. The football community is saddened by the events and expresses sympathies to the family and friends of the victim, Victoria Cairns.
