Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid made major change after doctor’s warning

Good Morning Britain host, Susanna Reid, has revealed a significant lifestyle change she made after receiving a warning from her doctor. The 53-year-old TV presenter shared that she struggled to shed weight gained during the Covid-19 lockdowns and was also experiencing skin issues. During a visit to her GP, she was alerted that her BMI was “worryingly high”, reaching almost beyond the healthy range for her height. This prompted Susanna to embark on a lifestyle adjustment, resulting in a loss of one and a half stone without the need for a gym. Susanna had previously disclosed her aversion to gym workouts back in December 2018 during a chat with former co-host Piers Morgan on GMB.

She mentioned, “I stopped going to the gym, I found it made me too hungry. I’ve levelled out, I lost a stone-and-a-half and that’s enough, and I don’t go to the gym.” Susanna also eliminated snacking from her busy work routine, emphasizing how she now feels “fantastic”. In an interview with Prima magazine, she acknowledged feeling a bit heavy for a period and managed to control her cravings, attributing them to her early 4 am wake-up time. Susanna, who follows a pescatarian diet, also disclosed that she stopped drinking in 2019 after a doctor cautioned her about the adverse effects of alcohol on her skin.

Addressing her decision to abstain from alcohol, she stated, “I’m rather glad I’ve given up drink because lockdown drinking, the pandemic prosecco, has been a serious issue. I gave up because a doctor told me to.” Moreover, skin issues such as flushing, flare-ups, and blemishes played a role in her lifestyle modification. Despite facing criticism for refraining from alcohol at her 50th birthday celebration, Susanna remained steadfast in her choice, earning herself the playful moniker “the world’s biggest bore” from Piers Morgan.

In conclusion, Susanna Reid’s candid disclosure of her health journey and determination to make positive changes in her lifestyle serves as an inspirational reminder of the importance of prioritising one’s well-being. Her ability to address health concerns proactively, adapt her habits, and follow through with her commitments underscores the significance of self-care and the impact it can have on overall health and vitality.
