A man who threatened to slit a bar worker’s throat was found to be carrying drugs worth thousands of pounds. The incident took place in East Kilbride, where police officers seized cocaine, ecstasy, and street valium from Nicki Morgan. Along with the drugs, Morgan was also in possession of £1700 in cash. Appearing from custody at Hamilton Sheriff Court, Morgan admitted threatening or abusive behaviour at Harvester on Eaglesham Road on May 24.
Rebecca Clark, the prosecutor, stated that Morgan became aggressive towards a staff member at the bar shortly before midnight. He threatened the worker by saying, “I’m going to slit your throat.” The police were called, and Morgan was found in a taxi where he was searched and discovered to have the drugs and cash in his possession. In addition to the threats and drug possession, Morgan also admitted to being involved in the supply of drugs and carrying two knives in public without a reasonable excuse.
According to defence lawyer Andy Thomson, Morgan’s drug consumption at the time had led him to leave his home and stay in a hotel or surf on sofas. Despite his actions, his partner remains supportive of him. Morgan’s sentencing was deferred until next month for background reports, and he was remanded in custody.
