Motherwell Photographic Society recently held its second digital image competition of the season, where photography enthusiasts gathered to showcase their talent. The judging was done by Gavin Forrest from Carluke Camera Club. Each image was critiqued by Gavin before being scored out of 20. The standard of images received high praise from the judge, with several photographs receiving commendable scores.
Topping the competition was Linda Greenhill’s “Into the Unknown,” scoring a perfect 20 out of 20. Following closely behind were joint second-place winners: “Intensity” by Linda Greenhill, “Mummy’s Fur Coat” by Rodger Shearer, and “Jersey Pullers” by Dominic Smith. Not far behind were the joint third-place images: “End of the Shift” by Dominic Smith, “Catch of the Day” by Margaret Dewar, and “The Birks of Aberfeldy” by Rodger Shearer.
Club Vice President Rodger Shearer expressed gratitude to Gavin for his time and valuable feedback on the images. The upcoming meeting on November 14 will feature Allan Bovill, a professional photographer based in Glasgow, as the guest speaker. Motherwell Photographic Society holds its meetings on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in Holytown Community Centre, welcoming photography enthusiasts of all levels to join. The annual membership fee is £30, with a weekly £2 fee covering meeting amenities like tea, coffee, and biscuits.
