A Scottish cat that had gone missing was discovered 300 miles away in England after embarking on an unexpected adventure. Beans, a ginger and white cat from Cumbernauld, disappeared from his home in late October after wandering out “as normal”. The owners, Cara, 40, and Colin McBurnie, 51, searched extensively in their local area but to no avail. However, in November, they received a surprising call from Cats Protection informing them that Beans had been found in Coventry, thanks to his microchip.
Cara shared that Beans enjoys being outdoors and often goes for walks, returning home for food after a few hours. Despite their efforts to find him, they were shocked to discover that Beans had travelled all the way to the West Midlands, where he was noticed by Kelly Ryan. Kelly initially hesitated to feed the cat but eventually realized he was lingering around too much. After posting about the cat on Facebook, Cats Protection was contacted, leading to Beans’ microchip being scanned, which then connected him to his owners.
Beans’ miraculous journey of over 300 miles surprised everyone involved.
