A group of courageous search and rescue dogs from Scotland, Zak, Bowie, and Merlin, were recently honoured for their exceptional life-saving work. The ceremony, hosted by STEP Scotland, saw Stirling’s Lady Provost, Councillor Elaine Watterson, present the dogs with personalised rosettes, blankets featuring their names, and bags filled with toys and treats as a token of appreciation for their hard work. Alongside their fellow life-savers from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service – Blue Watch, the dogs were commended for their vital contributions to search and rescue missions. The volunteers of Trossachs SAR provide assistance to local communities spanning from Loch Lomond to Dunblane, offering their search dogs for various rescue operations. The dogs have been involved in significant searches, including the recovery efforts at The Clutha bar in Glasgow following a tragic helicopter crash.
