Buses Set to Replace Trains Between Perth and Inverness Amid Major Works Commencement
Passengers travelling between Perth and Inverness will experience disruptions as Network Rail embarks on four weekends of improvement works. Engineers will be working tirelessly over the next four weekends to renew crucial pieces of infrastructure along the Highland mainline. This £9 million investment in the railway will see buses substituting trains during this period of works.
The main focus of the project will be the renewal or refurbishment of switches and crossings, which are movable sections of track guiding trains from one line to another.
