“Kitchen Conman” claims made against crooked ex-banker who stole cash from customers

Crooked ex-banker Dayne Lynn, who narrowly avoided jail in 2019 for attempting to steal £75,000 from customer accounts, is now facing claims of being a “Kitchen Conman.” Lynn, based in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, has transitioned to the fitted-kitchen industry, but his recent endeavors have left customers outraged over lost cash deposits and subpar workmanship.

Recent investigations reveal that Lynn, 27, was associated with two kitchen and bathroom installation companies that went bankrupt, leaving customers and contractors owed substantial amounts for unfinished or poorly executed work. One of the companies, Divine Kitchens Scotland Ltd, of which Lynn was the sole director, was dissolved in December 2023. Subsequently, Lynn joined his father’s company, Fresh Bathrooms and Kitchens Ltd, which is also facing liquidation after multiple complaints from customers who allege they paid for services that were not completed.

Customers like Kayleigh McKendrick and Carin Hamilton have come forward with stories of losing thousands of pounds to Lynn’s businesses. McKendrick expressed her dismay over the poor quality of work and outstanding deposits, while Hamilton recounted handing over £3,450 in cash for a job that never materialized after the company went into liquidation.

Additionally, Alyson Gebbie won a court case against Divine Kitchens Scotland Ltd for inadequate work, but Lynn failed to pay the settlement before the company went under. Another subcontractor highlighted the chaotic financial management of Lynn’s operations, resulting in substantial losses for them.

Dayne Lynn’s initial court case in 2019 unveiled a tale of being coerced by criminals on the dark web to embezzle funds from customer accounts, a story that bought him a community payback order and supervision. Despite Lynn’s claims of being a victim, the court found that no financial loss was incurred by victims. Following the recent allegations against his businesses, Lynn and his father Scott have faced severe criticism and backlash from affected clients.

In summary, the “Kitchen Conman” scandal surrounding Dayne Lynn exposes a troubling pattern of financial mismanagement and poor work ethics, leaving customers disillusioned and out of pocket. Lynn’s dubious track record and alleged fraudulent activities highlight the importance of due diligence before engaging in business transactions. The ongoing fallout from his ventures serves as a cautionary tale for consumers to be vigilant and thorough when selecting service providers.
