Grandma caught with cocaine hidden in knickers during arrest
Caroline Cochrane, a grandmother, was found in a peculiar situation when she was apprehended for breaching the peace. The 49-year-old woman, from Welbeck Road, Walker, attempted to discard packets of cocaine that she had concealed in her underwear while being arrested. Her defence lawyer, Peter Farrier, mentioned that the cocaine was for her personal use, stating that she is a single grandmother on benefits who lacked guidance in her youth. Farrier quoted Cochrane saying, “everyone has got their poison” when asked why she takes cocaine. Cochrane was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in costs along with a £48 victim surcharge.
