Hundreds of illuminated tractors and trucks will participate in a fundraising road run on Saturday to support the neonatal unit at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. The event, dedicated to the memory of Carolyne Muir who passed away earlier this year, will see vehicles adorned in Christmas decorations journey from Lockerbie to Dumfries and back.
Organised by Ryan Muir, the festive tractor and truck run will commence at the Harrison and Hetherington cattle mart in Lockerbie at 2.30pm. Participants are encouraged to join in the Christmas spirit with their vehicles decorated and a £20 fee for entry, payable in cash at the event. The vehicles will depart from the mart at 5.30pm, passing through Dumfries before returning around 9pm.
Last year’s event raised a remarkable £15,000, enabling the purchase of specialist equipment for the neonatal unit.
