A mother has recently been jailed for faking her child’s DNA test results in an attempt to prevent the biological father from visiting the child. Despite being pregnant again, Georgina Saville was sentenced to nearly three years for her manipulative actions. The court heard that she had altered a DNA test image to falsely claim that her new boyfriend was the father of her newborn baby, rather than the biological father, Kyle Fitton.
Georgina Saville, who holds a Masters’ degree in forensic psychology, was unsuccessful in using her pregnancy as a means to avoid a prison sentence. Judge Peter Henry highlighted that Saville had knowingly conceived the child after her conviction, indicating a lack of remorse for her actions. He described her conduct as an attempt to obstruct justice within family court proceedings and noted her vengeful intentions.
Despite attempts by Saville’s representative to argue for a suspended sentence due to her pregnancy presenting challenges in a custodial setting, Judge Henry rejected this plea.
