Retired Police Dog to Open New Pet Store in East Kilbride by Biting Through String of Sausages

A retired police dog is gearing up to play a special role in the opening of a new pet store in East Kilbride next week. Corrie, an Alsatian who faithfully served for six years with Police Scotland, will have the honour of biting through a string of sausages to officially declare the Jollyes store open on Saturday, November 30.

Jollyes, a rapidly expanding pet retailer with over 100 stores across the UK, is all set to unveil its new branch at Kingsgate Retail Park at 10 am. Alongside Corrie, who receives support from the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals, a St Andrew’s day piper will also be in attendance for the grand opening.

The Jollyes store in East Kilbride aims to provide the best value pet products in town, joining other Scottish branches in locations such as Perth, Stirling, Glenrothes, Hermiston Gate (Edinburgh), Port Glasgow, and Clydebank. Customers can expect prices of popular items for dogs and cats to be reduced, making them more than 10% cheaper than those of the market leader.

Pet owners will have access to Jollyes’ raw food frozen ‘shop-in-shop’ and can look forward to community pet clinics offering competitive prices for essential vet services like microchipping and vaccinations later this year. Joe Wykes, the CEO of Jollyes, expressed excitement about the new store’s value campaign, promising to provide the best deals alongside top-notch service and expertise from the staff.

In conclusion, Jollyes’ upcoming opening in East Kilbride promises not only great value for pet owners but also highlights the importance of recognising the service and dedication of retired service animals like Corrie in our communities. It’s heartwarming to see a beloved police dog being honoured and appreciated in such a unique and public way as it transitions into a well-deserved retirement filled with new opportunities and experiences.
