In the days leading up to his passing, Jay whispered a series of numbers to his mother, Dawn. She later discovered that these numbers were a code to unlock a message on Jay’s mobile phone. The message, described by Dawn as a “love note from heaven,” contained journal entries that Jay had been writing since learning about his terminal prognosis.
Despite undergoing multiple surgeries, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, Jay’s condition continued to deteriorate. In his final week, he made sure his mother knew the password to unlock his phone, where she found his heartfelt words of reassurance and love for his family.
