Fundraiser Launched After Death of ‘Angel’ East Kilbride Woman Found Dead in Flat

A fundraising initiative has been initiated following the tragic passing of a beloved woman in East Kilbride. Phoenix Spencer-Horn was discovered deceased at a residence in Glen Lee, St Leonards, earlier this week. The fundraising campaign aims to provide support to Phoenix’s loved ones during this difficult time.

Phoenix Spencer-Horn’s lifeless body was found at the Glen Lee property in the St Leonard’s area of East Kilbride on Monday, November 18. Her boyfriend, Ewan Methven, appeared in Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, November 20, charged with the murder of the 21-year-old woman. Methven did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody pending a future court appearance within the next eight days.

Known affectionately as Phe, Phoenix worked locally at the Strathaven Hotel and Roasted cafe in Strathaven. The news of Phoenix’s tragic demise prompted an outpouring of tributes on social media.

Friends and acquaintances expressed their grief and shared heartfelt memories of Phoenix. Grace McCabe, a school friend, reminisced, “I had a hard time at the end of school and she consistently reached out, was my friend, and supported me through the hardest time. I am devastated for Phoenix. I am so grateful to have known her. She was truly so astonishingly kind, warm, and generous to every single person. She deserved the very best this life had to offer her. Rest in peace beautiful girl, we will miss you.”

Ciara Dixon added, “I am absolutely speechless, Phe you did not deserve this, how can this world be so cruel! Rip angel. Friendship I will never forget x.” Another tribute highlighted Phoenix’s loving and caring nature, stating, “Rip Phoenix Spencer-Horn, may you rest in eternal peace. Gorgeous girl throughout. I will remember and cherish our memories x. She was so loving and caring, she didn’t have a bad bone in her body.”

In memory of Phoenix Spencer-Horn, a close friend has set up a fundraising page to assist with funeral expenses and provide aid to her family. The fundraiser aims to honour Phoenix’s memory and provide support to her grieving family during this challenging period.
