Hero police officers in West Lothian are set to receive recognition for their courageous actions in rescuing an abducted baby from a dangerous drug den. PCs Aidan McAllister, Graeme Alasdair Sewell, and Kyle Whitlaw are being commended for their bravery in saving the baby from a notorious drugs den in Fauldhouse.
The officers responded to a report of an intoxicated man wandering late at night while holding a baby last September. It was discovered that the man had taken the baby to a property frequented by local drug users. Despite the risks involved, the team entered the property, which was known to have weapons and a dangerous dog inside.
Upon entering the dark and weapon-strewn house, the officers found the crying baby and safely removed the child from the premises. The situation escalated when the suspect became aggressive and two officers were injured in the process. The man was later charged with multiple crimes, and the baby was reunited with their mother.
In recognition of their heroic actions, the officers have been shortlisted for an award by the Scottish Police Federation. The annual awards honour officers who have shown exceptional bravery and dedication in serving their communities. Across Scotland, a total of 29 officers have been nominated in various categories for their outstanding service.
