Lochrutton SWI Members Embrace Festive Spirit with Christmas Craft Making Demonstration
Members of Lochrutton SWI were treated to a delightful hands-on Christmas craft making demonstration by Anne McLauchlan, who showcased how to create snowflake Christmas decorations. The event, which took place during the November meeting and AGM, was a hit with all attendees.
Linda McTurk, President of Lochrutton SWI, began the meeting by welcoming everyone, including guests from Shawhead SWI who were there as tellers for the committee count. She highlighted the institute’s accomplishments, particularly in competitions where they secured victories. Linda expressed her gratitude towards the committee members and institute members for their dedication.
Following the President’s report, Judith gave the secretary’s report and Jean presented the treasurer’s report. The announcement of cup winners was met with excitement and applause. Judith Sauberlich, Jean Davidson, and Anita Gilmour were congratulated for their achievements in the Points Cup and Most Entries Cup categories.
As the new committee for the upcoming year was established, Anne McLauchlan led a hands-on crafting session where members got creative with making snowflake Christmas decorations. The activity was enjoyed by attendees of all ages, with Anne providing the materials for decoration.
After the crafting demonstration, attendees were treated to a delicious tea accompanied by homemade cakes and tray bakes. Linda McTurk extended her gratitude to Anne for sharing her expertise. The meeting concluded with the introduction of the new committee.
In the competition segment, Suzanne Stuart, Lindsay Greene, and others were recognised for their creativity in different categories. The next gathering is set to be a Christmas dinner at The Galloway Arms on December 10.
