The funeral procession, organised by Alexander Whitelaw & Co, will begin at Lawnmarket at 2:30 pm today, making its way down The Royal Mile towards St Giles Cathedral. Along the route, a 100-piece all-female choir called Sound House Choir will accompany the hearse, pausing for moments of reflection and song. The tour will continue through Cockburn Street and Market Street before heading back to Glasgow for a private cremation on Saturday.
Janey’s final send-off will take place on St Andrew’s Day with a service at St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow followed by a private crematorium ceremony. Instead of flowers, donations to the Princess of Wales Hospice are encouraged in honour of Janey’s memory. Mourners are also requested to wear bright colours as a tribute to Janey’s vibrant spirit.
