An Italian entrepreneur, Angelo Ovidi, has acquired the 440-year-old Baltersan Castle in Ayrshire, which has been unoccupied since 1745. Ovidi, a computer engineer, has purchased the castle near Maybole and is eager to embark on an ambitious restoration project for the site. Expressing his enthusiasm, Ovidi stated that he sees the castle’s rich history as a foundation for generating income through local produce to sustain the castle’s future and benefit the local community.
