Stirling schoolboy set to host festive fundraiser for local hospice
A young student from Fairview International School in Bridge of Allan is organising a special Christmas Carnival event this weekend to raise funds for Strathcarron Hospice. The event, coordinated by Year 11 pupil Lewis Frickleton, is part of his Middle Years Programme Personal Project. Lewis aims to raise £1000 for Strathcarron, a hospice that offers specialist care for individuals in Forth Valley, Cumbernauld, and Kilsyth.
Lewis has taken the initiative to plan the Christmas Carnival on Saturday, December 7, as a platform for his project. The Middle Years Personal Project allows students to delve into topics they are passionate about, enabling them to develop important skills beyond the classroom. Each student partners with a mentor related to their chosen topic to guide them through the learning process.
As part of his project, Lewis has involved his classmates in running stalls at the Christmas Carnival, aligning with the school’s FairBiz module. This module aims to nurture students’ business skills within a safe environment. Students will set up stalls at the carnival to sell homemade goods, with 50% of the profits being donated to Strathcarron Hospice.
