**Mother Found Deceased After Using ‘Weight Loss Drops’ to Shed Post-Cancer Weight**
A tragic incident has left a family devastated as a mother-of-two passed away after taking ‘weight loss drops’ in an attempt to achieve a slimmer figure. Sarah Thompson, aged 34, had purchased these deadly red drops during the summer with the goal of shedding weight following a battle with cancer. Thompson had rapidly lost over three stone within a month, going from 15 and a half stone to 11. Her family revealed that she felt empowered and ready to conquer new challenges.
However, the situation took a heartbreaking turn in September when Thompson was discovered lifeless in her bed by her 16-year-old daughter at their residence in Connah’s Quay, North Wales. Authorities were alerted to the scene following her sudden passing. Thompson’s family is currently awaiting the official cause of death from the coroner.
Thompson’s sister, Gabriella, recounted the events leading up to her sister’s demise, mentioning a distressing phone call just days prior where Thompson was visibly unwell. Gabriella encouraged her sister to seek medical help, but Thompson believed she could endure the side effects of the drops on her own. Unfortunately, the outcome was tragic as Thompson’s health continued to deteriorate, preventing her from consuming food or liquids.
Sharing her emotional experience, Gabriella highlighted the significant transformation she observed in her sister after using the weight loss drops, noting a boost in confidence and a newfound sense of empowerment. Thompson’s family disclosed that she had been unsuccessful in meeting the NHS criteria for weight loss injections, leading her to search for alternative methods online.
Following ITV News’ investigation, it was revealed that the drops contained Clenbuterol, a Class C controlled substance not authorised for human consumption in the UK. Despite its potential to enhance muscle growth and reduce body fat, Clenbuterol poses severe health risks, including increased heart rate, vomiting, low blood pressure, and heart attacks.
Thompson’s family is urging for stricter regulations to prevent the distribution of such dangerous substances and to alert individuals considering weight loss treatments about the associated risks. It is crucial to seek professional advice and use approved methods when embarking on a weight loss journey to safeguard one’s health and well-being.
