A cannabis gardener jumped from an upstairs window while attempting to escape from the police, Hamilton Sheriff Court heard. The authorities discovered 400 plants in the five-bedroom property on Glen Road in Wishaw. Florian Kola, a 39-year-old Albanian national, appeared in court from custody and pleaded guilty to producing cannabis on March 13. It was revealed that he was already on bail for a similar charge at Glasgow Sheriff Court, although that case was later dropped.
The police had received intelligence about the property in Wishaw being used for cannabis cultivation. Upon arriving at the scene around 1 am, officers noticed significant condensation on the windows, leading them to suspect illegal activity. Despite being legally in Scotland with an address in Edinburgh, he has been in custody since the incident in March.
