Depraved priest caught molesting sleeping man on Scots train after witness reports
A depraved priest has been jailed after being caught molesting a sleeping man on a train to Edinburgh Waverley. Father Daniel Doherty was reported by concerned witnesses who saw him sexually abusing the victim. The witnesses alerted police and rail staff before moving to a different carriage.
When questioned by train managers, Doherty claimed he and the victim were just friends, and he was only affirming him. However, witnesses noticed his disheveled appearance with his trouser button undone and zip halfway down. British Transport Police officers met the pair at the station, and the victim later reported the incident to the authorities.
Doherty, from Falkirk, admitted to sexually assaulting the victim on three separate occasions and was sentenced to 16 months in jail. He has also been added to the sex offenders register for 10 years. The Procurator Fiscal for Tayside, Central and Fife commended the victim for coming forward and emphasized the seriousness of sexual offences. Police Scotland Detective Inspector urged anyone with concerns or information to report them.
This disturbing incident highlights the importance of speaking out against sexual abuse and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions. It also serves as a reminder of the courage needed to report such crimes and the significance of thorough investigations by the authorities to ensure justice is served.
In conclusion, cases like these underscore the need for vigilance in public spaces and the obligation to speak up when witnessing inappropriate or criminal behaviour. It is crucial for communities to stand together against such acts and support those who bravely come forward to seek justice.
