A notorious paedophile, John Finlay, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years after a chance meeting between his victims almost half a century later led to his conviction. Finlay admitted to lewd and libidinous behaviour towards a young boy in the early 1970s and abusing another boy in the late 1970s. The court heard disturbing details of how Finlay targeted the boys and subjected them to his assaults, causing long-lasting trauma and distress.
