Teen boys attack 51-year-old woman ‘unprovoked’ near Scots bus station

Two teenage boys are being sought by police following an unprovoked attack on a 51-year-old woman in Glenrothes, Fife. The incident occurred on Postgate near the town’s bus station at approximately 5:55 pm on Thursday. The woman was approached by a group of youths, and two boys from the group proceeded to assault her. One of the suspects is described as being 15 to 18 years old, of medium build, wearing a black jacket and grey jogging trousers with a hood and bandana covering his face. He was carrying a black rucksack with ‘Nike’ written in white on the back. The second suspect is believed to be aged 13 to 16, of slim build, and dressed entirely in black. Fortunately, the woman did not sustain any serious injuries and did not require medical attention following the attack.

Sergeant Nicola Crookston condemned the attack as an unprovoked assault on a woman in a busy area of the town. Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist with their investigation to come forward. Authorities are in the process of reviewing CCTV footage from the area and conducting regular patrols. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 2611 of December 19.
