Influencer, 21, dies after downing entire bottle of whisky for £700 dare

A tragic incident has left a young influencer dead after he consumed a whole bottle of whisky in exchange for money. Thanakarn Kanthee, 21, who was popularly known as ‘Bank Leicester’ on social media, passed away in a hospital in Thailand. Kanthee, who was known for taking on dares to support his family financially, accepted a challenge to drink the lethal alcohol, with the promise of earning £700.

The fateful incident took place at a party where Kanthee was egged on by onlookers filming the dare. Shortly after downing the entire bottle, he started showing signs of distress and reportedly vomited before being swiftly taken to the hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Kanthee was declared dead at approximately 3.40am on December 26.

The social media personality, hailing from Bangkok, had garnered a substantial following online and has since received an outpouring of grief from devastated fans. Raised by his grandmother since he was just two months old due to his parents’ separation, Kanthee started working at a young age to support himself and his grandmother, initially selling garlands at a flea market.

Messages expressing condolences and sympathy have flooded Kanthee’s social media profiles following the tragic incident. In the aftermath of his untimely death, social media activist Guntouch Pongpaiboonwet has stepped forward to support Kanthee’s family.
