A new Christmas display brought joy to the Beatlie School Campus in Livingston, as students at the West Lothian school for children with additional support needs were treated to a festive scene created by the Community Payback team. The display included a Nativity scene, reindeers, and Santas, all hand-built in the school garden to make it accessible to as many pupils as possible.
The Beatlie School Campus caters to young people with severe and complex needs, providing care and education for those aged three to 18. Head teacher Debbie Green expressed gratitude to the Community Payback team for their hard work in creating the Christmas display, which was well-received by the children.
West Lothian Council’s Community Payback team offers individuals the opportunity to fulfill unpaid work orders as an alternative to custodial sentences, allowing them to contribute positively to the community. Executive councillor Anne McMillan commended the team for their efforts in enhancing the festive spirit at the school and enabling those on unpaid work to give back to the local community.
