The Nativity event at the Kirk of Calder had a unique touch of Abba during this festive season. The Swedish pop legends’ music was creatively incorporated to symbolize the dream of peace on earth during the birth of the baby Jesus. The event saw the voices of angels, kings, wise men, and shepherds reverberate throughout the packed congregation, ending with a jubilant performance of “Come and Join the Celebration” as children sang and raised their arms in joy. The atmosphere was filled with Christmas magic, thanks to the dedication of volunteers from the church’s Sunday Club and the shining young stars who made the Nativity truly memorable.
Livingston-based singer Abi Neil, who is currently studying at the Birmingham Conservatoire, kicked off the Nativity with a poignant rendition of “Mary Did You Know?” The event took place on December 22 and was brought to life by ex-drama teacher Jacqui Campbell, who received flowers as a gesture of appreciation at the end of the performance. The colourful portrayal of the Nativity was captured in photos by Pavlo Chernikov, showcasing the spirit of the season and the community coming together to celebrate.
