Vauxhall has unveiled its latest addition to the electric and hydrogen vehicle line-up with the introduction of the Movano Hydrogen van. This new van boasts a range of up to 311 miles and can be charged in just five minutes. Priced starting from £66,450, the Movano Hydrogen is set to open for orders in the spring. The vehicle benefits from over 20 years of expertise in developing Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles at Vauxhall-Opel and Stellantis.
Equipped with an electric motor producing 150ps of power, the Movano Hydrogen can store 7kg of hydrogen at 700 bar operating pressure. Refuelling is quick, taking less than five minutes to reach a full charge, with an additional 11kWh lithium-ion battery for support during acceleration. The van also features an upgraded multimedia navigation system with a 10-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and more.
In addition to the Movano Hydrogen, Vauxhall offers a range of battery electric vans, including the Combo Electric and Vivaro Electric. The company has initiated UK customer trials of the Vivaro Hydrogen, paving the way for the commercial launch of the Movano Hydrogen. Prices for the Movano Hydrogen start at £66,450 (exc. VAT) for the L3 H2 Panel Van and £68,070 for the L4 H3 Panel Van.
Meanwhile, BMW and MINI are introducing new features to their display screens with the integration of the BBC Sounds app. Drivers with selected models and a subscription can now stream content from the BBC Sounds app directly on their vehicle’s operating system. Furthermore, MINI models will include Parkopedia EV charging data on their circular OLED screens for added convenience.
