A prolific shoplifter has been banned from all Greggs stores in Northamptonshire after a series of thefts led to his arrest and subsequent imprisonment. Tashaun Pink, aged 36, was charged with 18 offenses, including assault of a female police officer who responded to one of his thefts at a store in Northampton on September 17 last year. Pink admitted to seven thefts from Greggs, eight counts of failing to comply with a community protection notice, and one count of obstructing police.
Magistrates sentenced Pink to 48 weeks in jail and also imposed a three-year criminal behavior order (CBO) prohibiting him from entering any Greggs or Spar stores in the county. In addition to the store ban, Pink is barred from Northampton town center, required to provide receipts for any new shop goods he has in public, and must leave any premises upon request.
Inspector Nicola Davis-Lyons of Northampton Neighbourhood Policing Team condemned Pink’s actions, emphasizing the distress caused to store staff and customers by his repeated offenses. She highlighted the importance of holding offenders like Pink accountable and ensuring public safety. The police force aims to prevent Pink from reoffending by enforcing the terms of his CBO upon his release.
