Paedo knifeman caught on CCTV chasing and stabbing teen girl is jailed

A paedophile knifeman who was captured on CCTV chasing and stabbing a teenage girl has been sentenced to 38 years in prison. Ellis Dismore, 24, pretended to be a teenage boy to target his victim, threatening and stalking her before carrying out the brutal attack. The terrifying incident was caught on CCTV and dashcam footage in Middlesbrough, where Dismore pursued the girl and stabbed her multiple times in the back. Fortunately, a passing motorist intervened and saved her life by driving her away from the scene.

Dismore, from Middlesbrough, was convicted of 26 offences, including attempted murder and inciting other girls he met online to engage in sexual activities. He will serve an additional five years on extended licence due to being deemed dangerous. The court heard how Dismore, posing as a boy named James Wilson, manipulated the victim by making threats and coercing her into sending explicit photos. The victim described how she felt controlled and scared to the point of isolating herself from others.

In a chilling statement, the girl revealed the distressing messages Dismore sent, including threats of further violence towards her. The judge described Dismore as “dangerous” and highlighted the insidious nature of his crimes, which involved grooming numerous young girls over seven years. The brave actions of the victims who came forward were commended by Detective Sergeant Andrew Hamilton of Cleveland Police.

Dismore’s escalating offences culminated in the violent attack on the 15-year-old girl, which could have been fatal if not for the intervention of a passer-by. The court issued a sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order prohibiting Dismore from contacting any of his nine victims. The judge emphasised the seriousness of the crimes and the threat Dismore posed to the public, acknowledging the fortunate outcome for the girl who survived the attack.

The harrowing ordeal underscores the importance of vigilance and intervention in cases of online grooming and violent crimes. It serves as a reminder of the impact of predatory behaviour on vulnerable individuals and the necessity of swift and decisive action to protect victims and prevent further harm.
