Clydesdale motorists are being alerted about upcoming roadworks on two sections of the A702 in the weeks ahead. Scheduled to begin on Monday, January 13, a programme of overnight resurfacing works will take place on the A702 near its intersection with the A766. The roadworks are being conducted by Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland, with work planned south of Braidwood Farm on the nights of Monday, January 13 to Friday, January 17, and at the A766 junction on the nights of Monday, February 10 to Thursday, February 13.
For the safety of both road users and the workforce, it will be necessary to close the A702 north and south of the A766 junction from 7.30pm to 6am the following morning. A signed diversion suitable for trunk road traffic will be in operation between Bush Loan Road and Melbourne Crossroads via Gowkley Moss Roundabout, the A701, and the A721. This detour is expected to add approximately 3.2 miles and nine minutes to affected journeys. Prior consultations have been held with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to ensure information about the project has been shared in advance.
