New Life-Saving Equipment Installed at North Lanarkshire School Thanks to Local Community Efforts
In an exciting development for Whitelees Primary School in Cumbernauld, new life-saving equipment has been installed, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the local community. The installation of the first LifeVac device at the school marks the culmination of a year-long endeavour led by SPAR Clyne Condorrat, a community store in the area.
SPAR Clyne Condorrat has partnered with Hazkit Ltd, an award-winning safety equipment supplier, to finance the installation of LifeVac devices in a total of 31 schools across the town. The LifeVac device is a regulated, non-invasive suction medical device equipped with a patented one-way safety valve specifically designed to dislodge choking obstructions in children when conventional first aid methods are ineffective.
Speaking on behalf of SPAR, Angela Mason expressed her delight at the collaboration with Hazkit Ltd, emphasising the importance of child safety within the community. The initiative aims to equip schools with essential tools to effectively respond to choking emergencies, potentially saving lives in critical situations.
Laura Murdoch, the Head Teacher of Whitelees Primary School, expressed her gratitude at being the first school in Cumbernauld to receive the LifeVac device, highlighting the commitment to prioritising the safety of pupils.
