Southport killer Axel Rudakubana was removed from court after claiming to suffer from “chest pains” during his sentencing at Liverpool Crown Court. Rudakubana, 18, had pleaded guilty to the murders of three young girls – Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, aged nine, six, and seven, respectively, at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in 2024. The attacks involved the use of weapons, possession of ricin, and having material related to terrorism planning.
The court proceedings took a dramatic turn when Rudakubana, in a prison-issued grey tracksuit, expressed feeling unwell and experiencing chest pains. Despite being reassured by medical staff, he continued to disrupt the sentencing by shouting that he had not eaten for days and felt ill. Rudakubana’s outbursts led to his removal from the courtroom for a second medical opinion, causing further delays in the sentencing process.
The post-mortem examinations revealed the gruesome extent of the victims’ injuries, with Elsie Dot Stancombe suffering at least 85 sharp force injuries, Bebe King enduring 122 stab wounds, and Alice da Silva Aguiar succumbing to severe head trauma and multiple deep stab wounds.
