Everyone came together, implementing our resilience plan. The shop and town hall were operational, luckily still powered. Around 30 individuals visited, some collecting supplies for others.” Similarly, hotels like The Market Inn in Castle Douglas offered accommodation, warmth, and amenities to those without power.
