He was stabbed five times during the shopping trip, where he and his friends were looking for skateboarding gear. Thanks to the quick actions of a female doctor who happened to be at the market, Mattia received immediate CPR and first aid before being rushed to Goztepe City Hospital.
The Turkish police have since arrested two suspects in connection with the attack – a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both of whom have prior criminal records.
