**Two Dumfries and Galloway Schools Remain Closed for the Third Day after Storm Eowyn Causes Power Cuts**
Two schools in Dumfries and Galloway, Colvend and Cummertrees Primaries, are closed for the third consecutive day due to power cuts caused by Storm Eowyn. Engineers are currently working to restore power in the area. While Colvend pupils have the option to attend Kirkgunzeon Primary, Cummertrees students are advised to go to Carrutherstown Primary.
Last Friday, all schools in Dumfries and Galloway were shut down following a red weather warning issued by the Met Office for Storm Eowyn. Most schools reopened on Monday, except for nine schools that remained closed due to power outages. As of Tuesday, only Colvend and Cummertrees Primaries were yet to resume classes. Scottish Power Energy Networks reported that approximately 800 properties across Dumfries and Galloway were still without electricity by Tuesday.
