Car retail giant given green light to expand showroom offering

Car Retail Giant Approved for Showroom Expansion

Park’s Motor Group, a prominent car retailer based in Ayr’s Heathfield Road, has been granted permission to enhance and extend their current showroom. The planning proposals were managed by Glasgow-based Nimmo & Partners LLP, with the applicant being Ian Mackay from Park’s of Hamilton (Holdings) Ltd.

The design and access statement revealed that Park’s Motor Group is a family-owned business representing 26 manufacturers and is among the largest dealership groups in Scotland. The company also participates in the Motability scheme, providing vehicles to disabled motorists. The proposed extension to the showroom at 73 Heathfield Road in Ayr aims to increase vehicle display space and includes internal refurbishment of the existing facility.

The extension, as per the plans, will feature a steel frame and be clad in composite cladding panels, along with large double-glazed showroom windows. Modifications to the existing South Elevation are also outlined to align with Ford Signature Design Guidelines. Adequate provision for drainage and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) will be incorporated in compliance with Local Authority regulations, while the site access from Heathfield Road will remain unchanged.

Council approval stated that the development’s design aligns well with the existing building and neighbouring commercial structures, posing no adverse impact on the surrounding area. There are no immediate plans to increase staff numbers post-expansion.

In summary, Park’s Motor Group has received the green light to expand their showroom in Ayr, showcasing their commitment to providing an enhanced retail experience for customers. With a strong reputation in the industry, this development reflects the company’s dedication to growth and innovation within the automotive sector.
