Scottish Labour MPs Advocate for Funding to Transform Grangemouth into Green Aircraft Fuel Facility
A group of Scottish Labour Members of Parliament is urging for public funds to be allocated towards converting Grangemouth refinery into a hub for green aircraft fuel. MPs Euan Stainbank, Kirsteen Sullivan, Brian Leishman, and Chris Kane have collectively penned a letter requesting a meeting with the National Wealth Fund to support the transition of the refinery for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production.
The National Wealth Fund, a UK Government-owned fund that backs various projects nationwide, could play a pivotal role in this conversion. Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is an eco-friendly alternative that reduces emissions from air travel. The UK Government has previously underscored the importance of sustainable aviation fuel, aligning with its support for infrastructure like the third runway at Heathrow Airport.
